AUSTIN BRYANT

 

     is a Boston-based percussionist, performer, and educator with over 15 years of teaching and playing experience. Currently, he teaches at Zach Field Drum Studios located in Newburyport, MA.

    Austin attended the University of Massachusetts, Lowell earning a Bachelors Degree in the study of Music Performance with an emphasis in Music Business. While attending school, he studied jazz, funk, and classical percussion with such performers as Fred Buda (Boston Pops), Jeffrey Fischer (Boston Ballet),  and Jim Lattini. After university, he went on to study with Dave Dicenso (Berklee College of Music), Bob Gullotti (Berklee College of Music), James Murphy (Berklee College of Music), and Mike Johnston (from Mikeslessons.com).

    His recordings with various artists have been featured on MTV, ETV!, ABC Family, and VH1. He has written songs for Disney/ ABC Family and the corporation Insulet/ Omnipod. Austin has performed with an array of groups and artists including Contact, whose single “Never Stop” has reached over 1 million plays on Spotify and was on the Top 5 Global and National Viral playlists, Dan Masterson, James Montgomery and Friends, Beneath The Sheets (featured at Warp Tour 2013), 7 Mile Drive, Sophie B. Hawkins, Jeff Gordon, The Rebels of Art, The Catch Trio, The Vesps, Wind Ensemble, directed by David Martins, Concert Band, directed by Daniel P. Lutz, Percussion Ensemble, directed by Jeffrey Fischer, and Big Band and Jazz Ensemble, directed by Walter Platt.
